The 3M 6001 Organic Vapor Cartridge is a professional-grade filter used with reusable respirator masks.
Its job is to protect your lungs from harmful organic vapors—the dangerous fumes that come from chemicals such as paints, solvents, thinners, adhesives, cleaning liquids, and similar products.
Inside the cartridge is activated carbon, which absorbs and traps these harmful vapors before you breathe.
It attaches easily to 3M masks using the bayonet-style twist connection.
People commonly use this cartridge for painting, spray painting, varnishing, chemical handling, industrial cleaning, and maintenance work.
FEATURES :
• NIOSH-approved for protection against certain organic vapors.
• Designed for workplace / occupational use (not for IDLH environments).
• Swept-back (low-profile) design: improves field of view and comfort.
• Bayonet-style connection: fits 3M half- and full-face respirators (6000, 6500, 7500, 7000, FF-400 series, etc.).
• Can be combined with particulate filters: e.g., 3M P95 filter (5P71) + 501 retainer, for protection against dust / spray.
• Color code: Black, per NIOSH classification.
• Effective for organic vapor concentrations up to:
• 10× PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) when used with half-face respirators
• 50× PEL when used with quantitatively fit-tested full-face respirators.
• Wide range of recommended applications: painting (spray & non-spray), varnishing, staining, sealants, solvents, chemical clean-up & dispensing, parts cleaning, seal coating.
